Biography

I discovered rock climbing growing up in New York City and seeing boulderers in Central Park while out with family. I began climbing indoors in college and was hooked soon thereafter. I now live and organize in the Pacific Northwest and am passionate about forest defense, climate campaigning and developing skilled and empowered young (at heart) people through organizing and outdoor leadership skills.

I was excited to join the Climb OUT Campout team after being one of the mentee guides at the inaugural 2021 COCO event in Joshua Tree. I am amped to join affinity programming that not only brings communities together but also challenges and questions systems and values of supremacy, domination, and oppression that manifest in climbing spaces, even “diverse ones.” I am a Wilderness First Responder and AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor who also works with She Moves Mountains and Climbers of Color in WA, where I am also the Assistant Director of Rock Instruction.

I also works as a coach in the youth climate movement --- I dream of being able to support technical direct action with climbing skills to bring about community liberation and climate justice and be able to offer climbing expertise to more liberatory projects. Beyond climbing, you can find me baking lots of bread (eating it even more), crying over just about every dog I see, jewelry making, outdoor naps, really good pickles and hot sauces, and slinging food and drinks as a server at a cocktail bar.
